Lack of ethics, dishonesty or pure bad service? Often it seems, real estate complaints fall between the boards with neither the Office of Consumer and Business Affairs nor Australian Competition & Consumer Commission able to assist. The Real Estate Institute of SA does not handle complaints regarding agent's actions and behaviour, due to lack of funding (some cynics may say, due to overwhelming numbers) and not all agencies are members of the Real Estate Institute. Financial Services Industry, Travel and other service industries have had strict guidelines imposed. The Real Estate Advocate is commencing a lobby campaign for the Government of South Australia to increase regulation - to do this specifics are needed of what is occurring to members of the public.
